Tuesday, February 15th
Today was quinessentially nondescript. Just the same old tiring routine which a normal student typically follows on an average day in a school term.

I am in blissful ecstacy! The very pores of my skin are reasonating with joy! Know what? I got back my Physics retest paper today which 36 people in my class failed and retook and voila! I topped the class with a score of 16/20, when virtually one day ago, I scored one of the lowest in the class, a 10/40. Hehe, this proves I am quirt smart after all! “p. Haha, just kidding though. However, it truly shows hard work does pay off! It certainly was a moment of triumph and jubilation. I am sure my parents would be beaming with pride when they hear of this. I am at the zerith of my existence!

Today is arguably the nadir of an otherwise remarkably fine week. As thee are Physics and Chemistry common tests tomorrow. The afternoon saw me buried in my books, struggling half a life, as I ploughed my way through heaps of Physics and Chemistry notes. It was a sheer exercise in agony and pain to say the least.

A day tinged with a curious oxymoronic blend of both joy and sorrow. ON the one hand, common tests have ended and I should be rejoicing, had I not have especially boring lessons followed by arduous and tediously long band practice to be topped by an exceeding grueling and torturous session of Maths tuition. Most apparently, I was drained and sapped of every single ounce of energy by the time I reached home.

Waking up to a bright cheery morning, I made my way down to Jurong Junior College with my friend, Guoyi, for the “Love Fiesta” carnival. Reaching the venue, we immediately merged with the sea of people forming the entire complex. In the canteen, we were greeted with gastronomic pleasures offered by the various food stalls. There were many beautiful souveneirs displayed by the souvenier stalls and unique fizzy drinks prepared by the drinks stalls. I had a splendid time and ate to my heart’s content.

The day I have been waiting 364 ¼ days for. My…birthday! Waking up early in the morning, I was pleasantly greeted with a dozen or so phone messages wishing me happy birthday. Wasn’t I elated! Lunch was a simple affair at home of traditional Chinese birthday fare of “Mian Xian” cooked specially for me by my mum. After gobbling down lunch, I sped off to meet my friends who were celebrating my birthday with me. However, happy I was the entire day, I was nonetheless a wee bit worried about Outwards Bounds Course (OBS) which I attending tomorrow. In the evening, I devoted most of my time to packing my bags. Even as I am writing down this entry, my heart is visibly palpitating with sheer anticipation. To say I am merely excited is an understatement. I will most certainly treasure and cherish this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire new skills and uncover new limits and potentials for myself.
In retrospect, this has been a wonderful week and I am anticipating an even more eventful one ahead of me. Hello to tomorrow!
